33Hostel is an independent, locally run hostel for solo travellers in the centre of Ferrel, near Baleal and Peniche. Meet fellow backpackers, join homemade family dinners and social activities, and explore the nearby surf beaches. 2025 Hostelworld HOSCARs: 3rd Best Hostel in Portugal.

Standard bookings allow stays of up to 5 nights from 1 April to 30 June, and up to 3 nights from 1 July to 30 November. For longer stays of up to 7 nights, book one of our Solo Traveller Rates exclusively through our website, subject to availability. Stays of 6–7 nights from April to June and 4–7 nights from July to November are exclusive to these rates. Check your selected rate for prices, inclusions and booking conditions.

We welcome people travelling on their own and do not accept children, families or groups.

Our services include a mini-bar and mini-convenience store, surfboard and wetsuit rentals with FREE transfers to the surf spots, bike rentals, scuba diving and round-trip tickets to Berlenga Island.

OUR STORY!

We organize homemade family dinners, pub crawls and group trips to nearby towns and attractions, and are always available to provide assistance and advice to our guests. Ferrel is a lovely village, full of locals who welcome all the foreigners that pass through with open arms. The nearby city of Peniche is famous for its fantastic beaches, and most of all for being Portugal's "Wave Capital". Surfers will appreciate that all the best beaches are just a few minutes away, with world-class conditions all year round. The Berlengas Islands and Cabo Carvoeiro are the main historical sites to visit. Also close by are Serra d'El-Rei, with luxury villas, and Óbidos, a beautiful town with a medieval castle. Our hostel is right in the center of Ferrel, just a short walk from the supermarkets, cafés, restaurants, bakeries, pharmacy, ATM, bank, post office, medical offices, hairdressers, bars and surf shops. It's also very close to the local church, one of the village's main points of reference, where lots of parties take place all year (especially in spring and summer).
